Survey
A survey was created to ask potential users about certain functionalities of the app. It was created to understand user needs for the app. Survey was shared across Facebook groups and WhatsApp. This allowed to collect some quantitative data about the usefulness of the app and its services.
Competitor Analysis
A comparative analysis was conducted on two waste management apps with similar functionalities to RecyQ. The evaluation employed the SWOT analysis framework to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of each application, with a focus on understanding available features and assessing areas of improvement.
Interviews
Four user interviews were conducted to gain a deeper understanding of user needs. During each session, an empathy map was developed to systematically capture qualitative data, offering valuable insights into user thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Results
The idea of the app seems to be novel. Rewards are important for the users to motivate them for the app. There is an average need to include a carbon tracker.

About the App
RecyQ is a waste management app concept designed to streamline and enrich the recycling experience for both households and businesses. The app enables users to schedule bin pickups, explore bite-sized educational content on sustainability, and earn rewards for eco-conscious actions. It also encourages community involvement through local environmental events and initiatives.
